How much for your pet

By bodyweight. Softgels can be fed whole or pierced and squeezed onto food.

Bodyweight Softgels
Up to 10kg 1 every other day
10 to 20kg 1 a day
20 to 40kg 2 a day
Over 40kg 1 per 20kg

Cats follow the same guidance, which for most means one every other day. If your pet is on medication or under veterinary care, check with your vet first.

Why choose our Omega 3 for pets

Every fatty acid figure printed rather than hidden in a blend, a feeding chart by weight, and a softgel you can pierce for fussy eaters.

The full fatty acid breakdown

Each softgel provides ALA 155mg, EPA 72mg and DHA 47mg, plus linoleic acid 184mg and oleic acid 170mg. Every figure is on the label rather than hidden behind an oil blend.

Dosed by weight

From one every other day for a small dog or cat, up to one per 20kg for the largest breeds. The chart is on this page.

Pierce it or feed it whole

A pin through the softgel lets you squeeze the oil straight onto food, so a fussy eater never has to see a capsule.

Vitamin E included

12mg per softgel. Vitamin E is routinely added to fish oil because oils of this type degrade once exposed to air and warmth.

Read the EPA and DHA, not just the total

Omega supplements are usually sold on one big number, the total oil or the total omega. That number tells you less than it looks. What most owners are actually after is EPA and DHA, the two marine-type omega 3s, and those are often left unstated.

Ours are on the label: 72mg of EPA and 47mg of DHA per softgel, alongside 155mg of ALA, 184mg of linoleic acid and 170mg of oleic acid. That makes this a daily maintenance supplement. If your vet has set a specific EPA and DHA target for a skin or joint issue, take these numbers to them and check the dose rather than assuming.

Weigh your pet

The dose runs from one every other day to one per 20kg. Use the chart below.

2
Whole or pierced

Feed it as a capsule, or pierce it with a pin and squeeze the oil onto their meal.

3
Every day

Fatty acids work on steady daily intake rather than a short course.

How our omega compares

Plenty of pet omega oils state a capsule size and nothing else, with no breakdown and no feeding guide.

How to run it

Days 1 to 7Get the dose right

Weigh your pet and use the chart. If they are suspicious of capsules, pierce one and mix the oil in from the start.

Weeks 2 to 8Stay consistent

Give it with a meal each day. Coat and skin condition respond over weeks, not days.

Month 3 onwardsReassess

Review how your pet is doing. If you are targeting a specific skin or joint problem, ask your vet what EPA and DHA level they want your pet on.

Frequently asked questions

How many should I give my dog or cat?

By bodyweight:

Up to 10kg, one softgel every other day. 10 to 20kg, one a day. 20 to 40kg, two a day. Over 40kg, one softgel for every 20kg.

Cats follow the same weight guidance, which usually means one every other day. Do not exceed the stated dose. If your pet is on medication or under veterinary care, check with your vet first.

How much EPA and DHA does a softgel actually contain?

72mg of EPA and 47mg of DHA, so 119mg combined, alongside 155mg of ALA.

That distinction matters and we would rather explain it than gloss over it. EPA and DHA are the marine-type omega 3s. ALA is the plant-type, and animals convert it into EPA and DHA only inefficiently. So the 274mg total omega 3 figure is real, but the EPA and DHA portion is the part most owners are actually looking for.

At this level it is a daily maintenance supplement. If your vet has recommended fish oil for a specific skin or joint problem, ask them what EPA and DHA dose they want, because targeted dosing is often considerably higher than a general supplement provides.

Why is there omega 6 and omega 9 in here as well?

Each softgel also provides 184mg of linoleic acid (omega 6) and 170mg of oleic acid (omega 9), which is why it is sold as a 3, 6 and 9 blend rather than a pure omega 3 oil.

Worth knowing: most complete pet foods already supply plenty of omega 6, so if your reason for buying is specifically to raise omega 3, look at the EPA and DHA numbers above rather than the combined omega total.

My pet will not take capsules. Any use?

Yes, and this is the main reason people choose a softgel over a tablet. Pierce it with a clean pin and squeeze the oil over their food. Most pets take it without noticing, and the empty shell can be thrown away.

Can cats have them?

Yes. These are formulated for both dogs and cats, dosed on the same weight guidance, which for most cats means one softgel every other day.

Piercing and squeezing the oil onto food tends to work better with cats than offering the capsule whole.

Are they suitable for puppies or kittens?

Speak to your vet before giving any supplement to a young animal. Their requirements differ from an adult's and we have no separate feeding guidance for them.

Do they need refrigerating?

No. Store the pack in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

Keep the pack closed between uses. If you pierce a softgel, use the oil straight away rather than saving a part-used one.

What is in the softgel?

An omega 3, 6 and 9 fish oil complex in a shell made of gelatin and purified water. That is the full list.

Each softgel provides fish oil complex 1000mg, giving ALA 155mg, EPA 72mg, DHA 47mg, linoleic acid 184mg, oleic acid 170mg, and vitamin E 12mg (15iu).

Contains fish. The gelatin shell means these are not suitable for vegetarians, though that matters less for a pet supplement than it might elsewhere.

How long does a pack last?

120 softgels, so it depends entirely on size. A 15kg dog on one a day gets four months. A small dog or cat on one every other day gets roughly eight months. A 30kg dog on two a day gets two months.

What is your returns policy?
